About Coach Alex
Overlooked to Recuited
As a player, I was a late bloomer. I was a freshman in high school when I decided I wanted to play college soccer, so I began training on my own and taking my development seriously.
Going into my senior year of high school, I had no college offers and felt overlooked by coaches.

At the last minute, I was given an opportunity to play on a local division 2 reserve team. While I was there, I built structure into everything I did: film study, weight lifting, and extra training sessions.
I quickly began to improve and was called up to the DII top team, where I made my NCAA debut. In the summertime, I was recruited to semi-pro soccer in USL League 2. After helping win a conference championship in my senior year, I entered the transfer portal.
I received athletic scholarship offers from other teams in the conference before committing to another division 2 school in Indiana: Purdue Northwest.
I went from being overlooked by coaches completely to starting games, earning a scholarship and playing at the semi-professional level. Now, I use everything I learned throughout my playing career and years of study to help overlooked high school defenders become the exact type of player college coaches want to recruit.

My Journey
Purdue Northwest
AUG 2024 - DEC 2025

I played 2 seasons as a graduate student at PNW. As one of the oldest players on the team, I assumed a leadership role, offering guidance and reassurance to younger players. In 2024, we started the season flying, peaking as the #8 ranked D2 team in the nation. I played 25 NCAA games for PNW at center back and in the midfield.

River Light FC
MAY 2025 - JUL 2025

Living in Aurora, Illinois, I played alongside top talent from schools like Notre Dame, IU, and Louisville. Head coach David Caban was a great leader, bringing a multitude of experience from his professional playing career. I made 7 appearances in the USL2 season with 2 starts.

South Bend Lions FC
MAY 2024 - JUL 2024

In South Bend, I lived with teammates from 10 different countries! Building off each other's energy, we trained hard all summer, often twice a day. In South Bend, I was able to simultaneously work a part-time coaching job. I started 11 of our 11 USL2 games that summer, playing outside back and winger. I scored 1 goal against Oakland County FC.

University of Indianapolis
AUG 2020 - DEC 2023
Over four years at Uindy I developed greatly. I played 29 games with the reserve team before moving to the first team where I played alongside many future professional players. In 2021 we became the #1 ranked D2 team in the nation. In my senior season we won the GLVC Tournament. With the first team I played in 13 games mainly in the spring.
